Dragons Den

Last year, instead of our usual celebratory conference, we hosted a Dragons Den event to encourage the people we support to take up small job initiatives, build community opportunities or build friendships, all things we take for granted.

No-one walked away empty-handed and there was an audience vote for the best overall idea who received a little bit more to make their idea happen.

Our Dragons who included Johann Lamont MSP, brought their own sense of fun to the event. We were grateful to John Dalrymple from Neighbourhood Networks, David Watson and William Trotter for helping people achieve their dreams.

We thrilled that Nicola Sturgeon MSP gave up so much of her valuable Ministerial time to open the event and showed such interest in those making the first pitches.

Patti Scott

A two day seminar was held by Inclusion Glasgow with the guest speaker Patti Scott from Neighbours Inc USA. Patti has considerable experience in Circles and Community Building which we were very privileged to be able to share. This event was attended by families, friends and the people we support and their teams.

“I truly enjoyed the two days with Inclusion Glasgow. You have wonderful people working there, and the people you work for were fabulous. I felt very, very energized after spending time with all of you. Thanks for the invite”.

Visitors

In October 2009 we have had a number of visitors to Inclusion Glasgow including Karen James from NHS Solihull Trust who commented:

“I was impressed by the dedication and commitment of the staff working in your organization which was obviously ahead of its time”.
