What's new

What a great time Marie has had following the launch of her book
“Marie – A life Moving Forward”

Marie has wanted to tell her story for a long time and some time ago she got together with Julie Muir (a Trustee) of Inclusion Glasgow who helped Marie record her thoughts.
Then will the help of Charlie Barker at GSCPF and her colleague Elizabeth, Marie was introduced to Graham at PR Print.

They helped Marie put her book into print and invited her to see the first copy come off the presses.

Marie had taken part in a photo shoot with her son Joseph, this was to make the front cover.

Next thing Marie knew Charlie had included the book in the GSCPF “Festival of Ideas” and there we all were in the Corinthian with a Jazz duo playing supping pink fizz, while Frances told everyone about Marie’s book along with Marie and introduced everyone to Joseph and the other important men in Marie’s life William her brother and Gordon her team leader. What a great day.

Staff Changes
We have two new faces in the office but if you look closely they are old friends who have come back to work with us.

Dawn has returned as our Development Lead and will be developing our work with the in-Control agenda. Dawn is also leading the Inclusion Glasgow vision for supporting our people to be engaged in the Community, building Circles of Support and for some people finding jobs.

The Dragons’ Den started the ball rolling and Patti Scott’s workshop continued this work. Our next step is the Big Plan. Dawn is linking with Pat and Andy of Diversity Matters on our Big Plan Event.

We have seven people taking part over 4 days but we hope others will volunteer for the next events because if day one is anything to go by it is Great Fun.

BUT wait what about the other new face in the office?

Well we are thrilled to welcome Fiona back from Australia. Fiona will be managing some services and will work with Dawn on some of the new developments.

The Care Commission carried out their Annual Inspection in December 2009 and concluded:

“We were impressed by the vision, aims and objectives of this service. The positive comments from people we spoke with suggested that the service was having success with putting these values aims and objectives into practice. Recommendations in this report are made with the intention of further improving what is already a well thought of service”.
