in-Control

The launch of In Control Scotland was hosted by Nicola Sturgeon on the 3rd November2009 with a hundred guests in attendance.

The members of Altrum are leading the way on the development of in-Control Scotland to ensure that the personalisation, self directed supports and Individualised Budgets are available for everyone north of the border. We are working with the Consortium for Learning Disability, The Scottish Executive and some Local Authorities to make this happen. This Model of support system has been pioneered in England and led by the in-Control team and Simon Duffy (Inclusion Glasgow's Founder).

There are over 50 local authorities signed up to this way of working and this has generated a tremendous energy for real change in the way people receive their funding and take control of their individual support arrangements.
