Being a Person Centred Organisation
Being a Person Centred Organisation Inclusion Glasgow is a Person Centred organisation. What does this mean? For us it is fundamental that each service is designed to suit the individual’s needs. It is dynamic, regularly updated and truly person-centred.
Every person Inclusion Glasgow supports is different, with different needs and different gifts, and therefore services are designed to meet this uniqueness. Trying to fit individuals into services does not work. Inclusion Glasgow designs a service, which is unique to each individual.
Person Centred Planning is carried out with the individual and with those people who really care about that person. It helps us achieve what is important to and for each person we support helping them achieve the goals they dream of. Each person we serve has a unique service.
different housing requirements
different staff arrangements
different levels of support
different on call arrangements
live in flatmate arrangements for some people
living with families for some people
people buying their own homes
Individual services change over time as new things are learned as people's life changes. The way these services are organised means that change can happen quickly and that decisions are made by the person and by those who are closest to the person.
Planning with People
Inclusion Glasgow aims to bring together the best possible combination of people to support the planning process. Therefore Person Centred planning is carried out with the individual and with those people who really care and is involved in the person's life. Inclusion Glasgow keeps the individual central to the planning process. Inclusion Glasgow only ever works with one person at a time. For each individual this means that the focus of the planning happens for him or her. We do not plan or design services on a group basis everything we do is based around the lifestyle requirements of the person we serve.
On-going development
The process of planning and developing services does not end here but develops with the individual and as changes happen. Inclusion Glasgow supports and monitors the arrangements to ensure that the interests of the individual are protected and that all the people who care about the individual can continue to contribute to the on-going planning process and that this has a real impact on the person's life and how they receive their support.
We believe strongly that Person Centred Planning is a tool which helps people achieve their dreams and is not the end result.
Person Centredness takes this concept to new depths and inputs on everything you do as an organisation and in each person's support arrangement to help them get the life they want for themselves.
